Spiritual Journey
If you're a regular listener on Friday nights, you'll no doubt be familiar with Simon and Tracey's show, 'Smith and West On Your Radios'.
Recently, they covered Cross Connections, our Christian programme on Sunday at 6pm and enjoyed it so much, they decided to pull together a new show with a spiritual flavour to preceed it.
Simon explains, 'Once we started to research music and news for Bob's show, we realised there were so many different religions, belief systems and faiths from around the world that we knew very little about'. Tracey adds, 'All of us are on a spiritual journey so we decided to create a programme that unfolds the journeys of others. Somewhere in amongst all the different strands, there might just be a message that strikes a chord within that helps the listener find peace'.
Regular features include an inspirational quote, the guiding principles of a religion, a practice explained; do you know what happens at a bat mitzva for example? There's also a where to worship section talking about the many sacred spaces there are to worship our Gods. They'll also read out a typical prayer from one of the many faiths and they will also announce the forthcoming week's interfaith calendar.
The lively yet respectful dialogue is laced together with music that reflects the topics discussed.
All in all, this eclectic magazine programme is sure to lift your spirits and the hosts hope if brings you peace, love and enjoyment on your own spiritual journey.
