Steve Philips

The lucious and dulcet toned Steve Phillips steps up next in our line of Presenter Profiles!  If you're in need of a good giggle and some great entertainment on a Monday night, make a be-line for his show!

What's your name?

Steve Phillips

How long have you been a presenter at Apple AM?

I think it must be over 2 years now.

Do you have any other broadcasting history?

Yes I do, before Apple, I used to do a live television spot every week day night 5-6pm I did this for about a year on Taunton television, I then progressed to producing "The Music Machine" a half an hour programme presenting local music, it had proper adverts an all! And I have the DVDs to prove it.

Why is it important to you to volunteer time at Apple?

I love playing music and if it cheers someone up and aids their recovery, well that’s great.

What's your favourite music genre and name some of your favourite artists and songs?

I love melodic songs, good lyrics, great groove, passionate and exciting, most things I suppose.

Who would be your dream person to interview, why and what would you ask them?

Jesus Christ, what did you really mean and were you misinterpreted.

If you could make any wish come true for the station, what would it be?

To go on FM and complete global domination!

What's the name of your show, what do you play/talk about?

It is called "The Music Machine"I have help from my mate Barry Ware, and we do the top ten album show for Taunton, this is kindly sponsored by Woolworth"s, in the second hour of the show, we have a special feature for a new album, then a classic album, along with classic tracks, dedications and requests and of course local music, we try to blend that with some comedy moments.

What's the highlight of your show and do you have any forthcoming "new" bits planned you"d like to tell the listeners about?

The highlight of the show is when I strip naked - no, not really, we have local musicians in from time to time, that"s really great, they play their selection of music and play their own stuff, and of course to prove our commitment to local music, we do outside broadcasts in local pubs usually supporting a charity of some sort for further details see our news pages!

When is your show on?

Mondays, 6.00pm to 8.00pm - I look forward to your company!
