John Berryman (Presenter)
My name is John Berryman, one of the Apple AM New Presenters.
I have been at Apple AM for a while now and present three shows a week on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
I have always had a keen interest in music and have collected vinyls for many years. In particular I enjoy the 60’s and 70’s era, with many famous group such as The Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Shadows, Beatles, Abba, etc.
Probably my three favourite tracks are “I can hear music, The Beach Boys”, “Dancing Queen, Abba” and “Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto, The Shadows”.
I am married, with three children and five grandchildren. I enjoy being a radio presenter so that I can share the music that I enjoy with you.
1. Why is it important to you to volunteer at Apple Am?
It is good to be able to present the music that I hope patients will enjoy whilst they are in hospital. I hope in some way that Apple AM helps cheer them up during their stay. Now that I am retired I would like to give some of my time back into the community.
2. Do you have any other Broadcasting experience?
No, I am a complete beginner.
3. Who would you like to interview on the radio?
There are three music icons that I have always admired. Sir Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson and Hank Marvin
4. If you could forecast the future of the radio station, what would it be?
To gain an FM License and broadcast alongside other main radio stations.
5. What are the names of your shows?
Golden Oldies on Wednesday afternoons.
The Time Tunnel on Thursday afternoons.
Starting Saturday on Saturday mornings from 8am.
